you may feel confused and uncomfortable. This is culture shock. Many things lead you to culture shock, such as smells, sounds, the very feeling of air one is breathing, and the native's unfamiliar language and behavior. This unit we are going to learn about this. S1: British food, for example, hot dogs, hamburgers, steaks and roast beef is very famous. Even something considered as "bland" as fish and chips, when done properly, can be just as tasty and pleasing to eat as anything.

S2: When I dreamed of seeing London in the past, I always wanted to see the Tower Bridge and the famous Big Ben clock. I visited these places, and I went on a tourist boat on the River Thames and saw two coasts. I also was impressed with the museums in London. They're very popular. I found them interesting because you can learn about the history of England. I had a wonderful time in London. I really like it because it is a city that is rich in history.

S3: Football (soccer AmE) is a very popular sport in Britain, played between August and May (the football season). Many people, esp. men, support a particular team and may go to watch the games that their team plays. Professional football is controlled by two organizations, the Football League and the Football Association (the FA).

S4: Besides, many people consider baseball to be England's national game. It is traditionally played by men and boys and although there are some women's teams, including a national one.

S5: It is now known to us all that in general, American food is mild tasting; most Americans do not season their food to any great degree. They like to eat hamburgers, popcorn, hot dogs, French fries, pies and pizza. They don't really have a traditional type of food of drink. It is a kind of a mix of food and drink.

S6: Two of the most popular American foods are hot dogs and hamburgers. You will find these available at almost all "fast food" restaurants. A hot dog is usually made either from beef or pork, or a combination of the two, but a hamburger is
