For example, air pollution means the release of greenhouse gases, like carbon dioxide, into the atmosphere. If the atmospheric concentration(大气浓度) of these greenhouse gases increases, then it will result in global warming and climate change. The smoke released from factories contributes to the formation of smog, which, in turn, makes less sunlight reach the Earth and then affects the process of photosynthesis(光合作用).
Water pollution affects numerous species which are dependent on water---humans included -directly or indirectly. Tons of waste is dumped into water sources, like lakes, rivers, and even oceans. These pollutants don't just make the water unusable for humans, but also affect the species living there, thus affecting the whole food chain.
Like water, soil is also one of the major components of the planet. It helps the growth of plants, which are important for our existence. However, the pollutants released into the soil affect the plants growing in it, thus resulting in poisonous crop production, which would affect us when we consume those crops.
We have to realize that environmental pollution is so urgent and it really deserves our attention. It's high time that we took necessary measures to fight against it, or else it won't be long before the very demon(恶魔)we've created blows our door down.
About pollution Introduction Though we know we should take measures to save the earth immediately, we pollute the environment (1) . Some facts •In developing countries, a great deal of waste is dumped into waters.
•An estimated 14 billion pounds of garbage enters the ocean on a(n) (2) basis.
•In 2015, a(n) (3) number of light vehicles have been sold in America compared with those in 2014. (4) of pollution •Air pollution is caused by the release of harmful gases into the atmosphere.
•Water pollution and soil pollution occur when harmful (5) enter water sources or soil.
•Noise pollution, radiation pollution, thermal pollution, etc. are also affecting the environment.
